.:YORKSHIRE:.This 1930’s craftsman’s style bungalow was 1,200 square feet prior to renovation. This whole house remodel at the conclusion added an additional 2,000 square feet of build-out, and yet the house maintained its true historical aspect in almost every detail. The remodel included a large Family Room, Master Bedroom & Bath, upstairs, and downstairs, a large Entertainment Room, small office, laundry room, bathroom and bedroom. This remodel for whole house renovation was over $350,000. Location in Atlanta, Georgia. To build an addition and renovate a small bungalow, with such large square footage attached was made possible by supporting 50% of this house with temporary structural supports to permit a 6 foot crawl space to be lowered to a 10 foot crawl space, using a Bobcat, after the perimeter foundations were replaced with formed concrete walls. The exterior construction of the addition was duplicated with the exact same brick, stucco, and trim used over 65 years ago! The construction required that even the mortar of the new brick be identical, and was hand matched in the field. Every detail to duplicate the interior trim and finishes as the old exiting house, was employed in this renovation. The existing interior finishes in the old house were carefully refinished, and the exterior portion of the old house was fully restored to its former glory.
