.:VISTA TRAILS:. This house was completed in 2003 as a whole house remodel. The original floor plan was a single story 1,400 square foot, with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, kitchen, and living room, built in 1950. The remodel of this home provided a two story structure that included a new kitchen, large living room/den area, 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bath, large entertainment area, front porch, rear outdoor kitchen, and upper floor patio for the master bedroom. Total remodel cost was $550,000. This design/build whole house remodel, was a new approach in building a house, using the most up-to-date technologies, alternative construction techniques, and unusual design, not widely offered as a standard in the Atlanta market for the square foot price that this house was built. Houseworks Construction, Inc. takes great pleasure in building unusual and custom homes, and our design/build success is mostly due to our artistic ability not only for fine home building, but to innovative and unusual architectural designs and construction. The intent of this house remodel was to construct a house that required minimum maintenance and was extremely energy efficient. The original footprint was 1,400 sq. ft., and with an additional 2 nd floor added of 1,200 sq. the unusual design increased the total square footage to 2,600 sq. ft. No additions were added except the front porch and the outdoor kitchen attached to the rear. It was very important the outdoors was very accessible from the main house, and every exterior door had some form of access either to the garden or the outdoors. All 6 exterior doors were custom Spanish Cedar wood construction, with fine mortise lock door hardware, which along with the Lincoln wood casement windows, and solid timber-frame construction, created a dramatic architectural impact that is part of our signature in our design/build construction.
