.:REGENCY:.The rear construction addition to this house was based on a theme of modern with oriental influence, built in true timber-frame construction, providing a screen porch below, and an office above. The bathroom renovation also maintained oriental influence, using true Hinoki wood with a Japanese soak tub. The remodel also included reconfiguration of the roof eaves and a front porch done with same timber-frame style. This remodel for whole house renovation was over $350,000. Location in Atlanta, Georgia. This house was built in 1980 and not withstanding existing building codes was lacking some key elements in the foundation systems which compromised a large 3-story section of the house, the same for the rear existing structure prior to renovation. The structural engineering provided and designed by Houseworks Construction exclusively, resulted in the repair of a large portion of the foundation and with the use of hydraulic pump jacks, 3 stories of this house were raised 3” without incidence or damage to an existing 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, hall foyer, and the exterior stucco. The bathroom remodel was an extremely complex design, taking into consideration that the bathroom was made of wood, required intense design and engineering, in spite of its seemingly simplicity, and was coherent with the timber-frame construction, and architectural design. This whole house renovation is an example of the diversity that Houseworks Construction can create for renovation, remodel, design/build, and award winning performance!
